Stacy is the Dean of Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine, where her focus over the past five years has been on developing curriculum that produces confident, competent, day-one-ready graduates and innovative new veterinary-related programs. She graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Following a large animal surgery residency at the University of Saskatchewan, she completed her PhD in 2015 under the supervision of Baljit Singh, former Dean at the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Before joining VCA in 2009, he was chief executive officer and co-founder of ThinkPets, Inc., and prior to that, worked as an investment banker for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and as a consultant for Accenture.

As the leader of HABRI, the only research organization focused solely on the human-animal bond, Steve has developed significant expertise in communicating the science of human-animal interaction and its practical application in society. Steve also serves as liaison to the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Steering Committee on Human-Animal Interaction, developing policies and resources to help veterinarians strengthen the human-animal bond. Aaron is the Executive Director of the Veterinary Innovation Council. He spent his academic career in philosophy, culminating with a PhD from the University of Guelph in 2011. Rustin has served as dean of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine since September 2015. He has published more than 120 peer/editor-reviewed manuscripts; nearly 20 book chapters; and presented/published greater than 175 scientific abstracts, over 100 continuing education lectures/conference proceedings, and more than 100 outreach and professional presentations. Rustin is passionate about and a frequently invited speaker on topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the veterinary profession; health and well-being in the veterinary profession; the power of the pet and the human-animal bond; spectrum of care, access to care and healthcare disparities in veterinary medicine; One Health; and more.

Apryl is the president and chief executive officer of the Dumb Friends League in Denver, Colorado. After practicing veterinary medicine for 18 years, she had the honor of joining the League to advocate for animals who are vulnerable due to homelessness, mistreatment, or their owner’s financial situation. Since becoming the chief executive officer in 2018, she has overseen expansion of the League’s impact to include a veterinary hospital that provides subsidized veterinary care to underserved pet caregivers, led a $40 million shelter renovation, helped develop the Socially Conscious Animal Community framework, and led 280 employees through a changing culture when their executive director of 44 years retired.
